Our next issue marks the start of a new season and is guest edited by tireless conservationist, the Duke of Northumberland. He has called on several likeminded friends and family members to contribute pieces to this incredible issue, including Sir Nicholas Soames, the Duke of Norfolk, his Florida-based son-in-law Remy W. Trafelet and daughter Lady Katie Percy. His younger brother James met him at home in Alnwick Castle for a chat that covers everything from Hector his beloved spaniel to his thoughts on rewilding. We also meet our front cover artist Silvy Weatherall who creates her striking pieces using discarded gamebird bones, plus we hear how Gleneagles is elevating their hospitality in the field and we join the Birkbeck family for their grouse day in the Borders. For fishing fanatics, there’s a coastal theme as we travel to Portugal for short haul sand flats and the Moray Firth closer to home. To round things off, the Duke’s cook of 26 years, Gillian Millar has shared her favourite game recipes with us and the Duke reveals the wines that have left a mark.
