To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Royal Berkshire Shooting School (RBSS), which is part of James Purdey & Sons, three lucky youngsters have been offered a special, money-can't-buy Young Shot scholarship worth over £1,000 each to get them ready for the 2021/2022 shooting season.

The three Young Shots are:

  • Harry Blundell aged 14
  • Hattie Gibson aged 12
  • Wilbur Kitson aged 14

These Young Shots will each receive four shooting lessons at the award-winning RBSS (one of them will be with a Purdey shotgun), a session on game shooting, safety and etiquette, plus a place on a thrilling Really Wild simulated day this summer, plus a special Purdey game book and an annual subscription to Fieldsports Journal.

The simulated day will be held at the beautiful Well Barn estate on the Oxfordshire/Berkshire border on the 'Glorious Twelfth' (Thursday 12 August) and celebrate the start of the 2021/2022 game season. The Young Shots will enjoy five thrilling drives under the expert guidance of a RBSS instructor, with a mixture of birds including high pheasant. With shooting concluded, a game themed luncheon will then be enjoyed at the grand shoot lodge, with the youngsters really getting to experience everything but the feathers!

Congratulations and thank you to all of the wonderful Young Shots who entered, your passion for shooting, fieldsports and conservation is incredibly heartwarming.
